We’ve put together a thoughtfully curated guide to answer your most commonly asked questions and to help you fully embrace the magic of your night shoot experience.
where do we meet?
Kananaskis Sessions Meetup: Bearspaw Kananaskis Travel Centre (Right by the Stony Nakoda Casino).
Canmore Meetup: Starbucks Railway Ave (Only Starbucks in Canmore)
Banff: Cascade Ponds 1st Parking Lot
Jasper: Jasper Lake Parking Lot (on the east side of the highway there is an outhouse in this small parking lot)
Icefields: Icefields Center
Calgary: These sessions are custom picked based on your evening.
where are we going?
We will be roaming to a few locations during your session. Sofia will lead the way in her jeep for you to follow in your own vehicle. Night driving will be required and you are more than welcome to bring a driver or friend along for the experience if that makes you more comfortable.
what do i bring?
Water.
Warmth. A jacket or a blanket to keep warm under while we test our cameras. Night shoots require a lot of setup and waiting so you’ll want to keep warm.
Personal Items. We ask that you limit the personal items you bring to 2. These items should feel special to you and why you are doing the session.
Shoes. Often these sessions are done in bare feet (in warmer months). We ask that you bring comfortable walking shoes in the event we need to walk away from the vehicles in night conditions.
pets.
We have worked with pets in the past and are open to you bringing your furry friend. Please speak with Sofia via a phone chat about what a shoot with your pet is like. It is a very different experience with a pet accompanying us.
what about the weather?
We are weather fearless women. Embracing whatever weather the world gives us that evening creates authentic experiences and a true connection to the earth.
We go forward with your session no matter what the weather will be and encourage our Nicturna Girls to not even check the weather.
Rainbows only happen after storms.
what do I wear?
We empower you to wear what makes you feel beautiful, sexy and powerful.
For some this is a pink tutu and angel wings. For it’s barefoot with a linen dress from their Mother.
Think about why you are doing this shoot and be inspired by that reason. Close your eyes and what do you see yourself wearing?
when do i get my photos?
We deliver our galleries one full moon cycle after your experience. If you had a full moon session the next full moon will be your delivery date.
sacred medicines.
Cannabis, psilocybin & psychedelics have been used by clients on past Nicturna Experiences. We ask you please consume responsibly, within your limits and invite a driver should you wish to use sacred medicines for your session.
